The back story

Dublin has no airport rail link yet: coaches and buses run from Dublin Airport to the city, the fastest in as little as 14 minutes, Dublin Express says. In the city, the Luas runs two tram lines, Red and Green; the DART follows Dublin Bay from Howth and Malahide to Dalkey and beyond; and Dublin Bus covers the rest. The Leap Visitor Card gives unlimited travel on Dublin Bus, the Luas, the DART and commuter rail in Zone 1 for your chosen period. From Connolly, the Enterprise runs to Belfast.
From the airport
Dublin Express and Aircoach run coaches to the city; Dublin Bus serves the airport too; taxis wait outside the terminals.

The Luas Red Line runs east–west through Heuston, Smithfield and Connolly to the Docklands; the Green Line runs north–south through O’Connell Street and St Stephen’s Green to Ranelagh and Dundrum. The DART runs along the coast. Dublin Bikes are on the streets of the centre.
Buy a Leap Visitor Card at the airport if you will use public transport every day.
Trains and ferries
Irish Rail runs from Heuston to the south and west and from Connolly to Belfast on the Enterprise; Irish Ferries and Stena Line sail from Dublin Port to Holyhead.
Our advice: you can’t yet tap a bank card on Dublin Bus or the Luas: use a Leap card or buy a ticket.
